Saint Louis Club has a Wine Program without equal – a bold but truthful statement. You won’t find a cellar like ours anywhere in the region – not at another private club, not in a restaurant. Our award-winning Sommelier ROB CRANDALL (CS/CSW, Club of Distinction, Advanced WSET Certified) says he considers it an honor to serve our members. It shows.

      Our Philosophy: Our wines should reach their peak state precisely when we place them on our list ... and pour them into your glass.

      Timing is everything! The great wines of Bordeaux --from excellent vintages like 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and, currently, the 2015 vintage -- can age up to 50 years. Wine that can live as long as those can taste harsh and, what our sommelier would call, “unapproachable” in their youth. You may drink them young, he says, but you won’t find them as complex and harmonious as they will become if we allow them to relax in our temperature-controlled cellars.

      When you choose a wine from our list, we feel proud and confident we can pour it into your glass at its apex.

  • AMAZING MAKE UP WITHOUT MARK UP...
    • Remarkably, we do not mark up our wines as the market would demand. Because we have our Ageing Program, we can fix the cost of the wine from the time the producer originally brought it to market!

      As great wine ages, the demand for that wine increases. In fact, the prices of the great wines of the world have increased almost 300% as more of the world’s wine lovers look for ways to enjoy these wines at their own tables. The Law of Supply and Demand prevails. Less of a wine worldwide usually means higher prices ... but not for Saint Louis Club members.

      Because Saint Louis Club invests in wine and ageing the way we do, we can deliver world-class wines at incredible values. Other stand-alone establishments mark up the wines on their lists.

  • COMPARE VINTAGES...
    • We always look for great vintages from all the premium regions of the world. We select the best wines from the best producers. Maybe you collect all the vintages from a favorite producer. We encourage avid collecting, but when you see a producer on our list, you’ll know we chose only their top-produced wines over the years.

      Also, for those producers who steadily make great wines, we create verticals from their portfolios. Almost no other wine experience can compare to tasting multiple vintages from your favorite producer with friends and colleagues over dinner created by our Master French Chefs.

  • A CULTIVATED CORAVIN PROGRAM...
    • Since we stock our cellars with true gems, we want to make them accessible to our members for all occasions. To do this, we introduced our Coravin Program. It allows you to enjoy some of our greatest wines by the glass when you dine with us.

      If you want to start your meal with an aged 1986 second-growth Bordeaux and finish with a beautiful Cabernet-based wine from California, we won’t make you order and consume two bottles. Instead, order by the glass and create a responsibly memorable wine and food experience.

      We change our Coravin Program weekly or monthly to give our members new experiences every time they enjoy the Club.

    • We keep in constant contact with our distributors and import suppliers to bring great wine and great wine experiences to the Club. We host frequent events featuring premium wine makers and winery owners – DRC, Peter Michael, Krug and so, so many more.

      At our wine dinners, superstar producers share their enthusiasm, their expertise and the inside scoop on the wine world generally and their regions specifically. We also look inside our own cellar to create these events – elegant or casual, intimate or grand-scale celebrations.

  • A CONFIDENT AND WINE-EDUCATED STAFF...
    • Unlike most restaurants that incur high turnover in staff and typically don’t or can’t take on the high cost of professional training for every staff member, here at Saint Louis Club we wouldn’t serve wine without that training.

  • BLIND TASTINGS MAKE FAR-SIGHTED SERVERS...
    • Our sommelier personally guides our staff through annual blind tastings. Also, over an eight-week period, he delivers the Technical Skills Education program created by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London. During this time, our servers taste through the wine world and learn what makes each pour unique. They come to understand the constitution of the wine and how it will relate to the food you will order here at the Club. In short, we make our staff fluent in “Wine Speak,” so they can answer our members’ wine-list questions with confidence, and they understand even our most wine-savvy members’needs and desires.

      Lastly, and critically important, we train our staff in the proper handling of our wine regarding service and attention to detail.
